A BRIEF HISTORY OF SCHUSTER'S
In 1973 while working for Kretschmer-Tredway, a local wholesale supply house, Don Schuster formed "Schuster Heating & Pump Co." With one truck and no employees, Don set off installing and servicing rural water well pump systems, doing plumbing, and installing forced air and hot water heating systems.
In 1983 he installed the companies first geothermal heating and cooling system. In 1985 he installed the companies first commercial geothermal heating and cooling system (65 tons). Since that first installation, Schuster's has installed in excess of 500 units totaling over 1200 tons. This, in conjunction with expert radiant floor heating design and installation, has established Schuster's as the premier geothermal and radiant floor heating company in the area.
Since 1983, Schuster's has also branched out in the field of residential and commercial lawn irrigation. We have done numerous businesses and residences in Dubuque and the surrounding area. Most notably would be the Field of Dreams movie site in Dyersville IA. In 2004 Schuster's sold the irrigation business to GSA Turf & Irrigation.
In 1996 Schuster's received a license from the Maxxon Corp. to be the only licensed installer of Gyp-Crete© and Gyp-Crete products between Des Moines IA, Milwaukee WI, and Rockford IL. This is an area that we expect to see tremendous growth opportunities in the future.
In 1999 Schuster's entered the insulation field with Applegate Wet Spray Cellulose Insulation. The addition of cellulose insulation follows naturally with the energy efficient field of geothermal. In 2005 Schuster's stopped installing cellulose insulation due to the increasing demands of the geothermal business.
Although we no longer do lawn irrigation or cellulose insulation, Schuster Heating & Pump Co., Inc. has come to be one of the largest and most diverse specialty service contractors in the greater tri-state area. Doug Schuster, DougSchuster@schusterpump.com, is owner and operator.

In 2006 we moved into our new 8,672 square foot building. The building is equipped with 10 ton of GeoComfort water to water geothermal equipment, 2 ton of Unico high velocity air
