We are proud to install GeoComfort products
This mechanical room has a bit of everything. We have a GeoComfort Compass two stage forced air geothermal unit on the right. A GeoComfort Compass water to water geothermal unit is on the left. In this case the forced air units is taking care of the main floor. The water to water unit is making hot water for the radiant basement floor as well as the air handler on the second floor. The second floor air handler is also receiving chilled water in the summer from the water to water unit for cooling. The modes of the water to water unit are controlled by a Geo-Tec Radiant Control Center. When the second floor thermostat is in the heating mode, the radiant control center allows the water to water unit to store hot water in a buffer tank for use by the radiant floor or the second floor air handler. When the second floor thermostat is in the cooling mode, the water to water unit pumps 36 degree chilled water to the second floor air handler for cooling and dehumidification. All the homeowner needs to know is how the operate the thermostats and where the filters are located for cleaning purposes. We would love to highlight your project here. If you have a system from us and you would like to see it here, call us. If you don't have a system from us yet, we can fix that also! Call us for a free, no obligation quote today any maybe your mechanical room will be up here as well.
This is an example of an existing house that had 2 gas furnaces and a gas water heater. The homeowners wanted to replace the gas furnaces but keep the gas water heater. When we sized a GeoComfort system for the house we learned we could use just 1 geo unit. Since the basement gas furnace was a downflow with duct work under the basement floor, we had to be creative. We installed an EWC zone system and a duct branch heading to the basement floor duct work. The homeowner still has 2 thermostats and operates the system the same as before. We are just using 1 GeoComfort unit and a zone system to condition the house. Since they wanted to keep the gas water heater we installed a Rheem electric water heater as a pre heat tank for the gas water heater. The cold water goes into the pre heat tank and is heated by the geo system. That heated water is fed to the gas water heater and it only has to bring it up to temp if it's not there already.
